Neoki Profile

Formerly known as Nemiyoko. (her old profile) The changes are official now. Just as I myself have been reborn in Christ, my mascot; Nemiyoko has been reborn too. Only her rebirth is more of a physical demonstration; just as the legendary phoenix is reborn out of it's own ashes, the dragon has merged with a phoenix to create a new creature, a "phendrake", a holy dragon. Her new name, "Neoki" means "new one", chosen not only for it's meaning, but also because it is not that far from her original name, so the transition is smooth.

The differences are obvious, but mild. Most notably she now has feathers on her wings. Originally I was going to make her wings entirely feathered, but admittedly I am quite partial to "bat wings" on dragons, and I missed drawing them on her. I've seen from several different sources that it is possible to combine bat-type wings and feathers, I just hope I did okay with that. As well, she now has fur, as opposed to the leathery skin she used to have. Her ear thingies are now true ears, which fold back against her head when she flies to help her avoid wind noise. The feathers on her tail expand out when she flies, and contract back together when not in flight, similar to a bird's tail feathers. As for her paws, what I mean by "half talon-half canine like" is this: she has finger-like talons like most dragons do, but they are shorter, and more stubby, kind of like a canine's paws. This makes for quicker running speeds.

Overall, she's still the same lovable dragon who loyally and faithfully guards Mykoto on all her adventures. Comparing her anatomy (changes aside) to her previous profile picture, I'm loving how much I've improved ^^

EDIT 10/21/13: After drawing her mate, Zenichai's profile, I've realized how much I've improved in only a year's time... I may need to update this profile yet again at some point in the near future...
